Bloggers for 2007

Local elections produce the most candidates and the least publicity. Now more than ever, we need bloggers.

If you have a special issue, such as land use policies, transportation, education, or some other issue, blogging offers a great opportunity to educate your readers and track legislation during the 2007 session.

Blogging about the election for Board of Supervisors, General Assembly, School Board, or any other election, gives our candidates an opportunity to ge their message out that is not otherwise available.

If you speak a language other than English, you have a special opportunity to explain local government to your community.

Don’t worry about getting readers. With regular posting you will find your audience. Send Waldo an email and he will put you on the Virginia Political Blogs aggregator. I assume the same is true of the BlogNetNews aggregator. Lefty Blogs has a page where you can add your blog. It takes them a few months to approve you, they have to make sure you write about local politics from a Democratic point of view and that you are not a troll blog.

I look forward to seeing more fine Virginia Democratic bloggers.

Election 2007

Next year the entire General Assembly, Board of Supervisors, and constitutional offices are up for election. We have are real chance to take back the assembly.

This is the election where you have the most candidates and the fewest volunteers. If you are one of the many thousands of volunteers who were inspired by the Webb campaign, please come back and help us again.

Join the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, it is a chance to make a difference.

$250,000 Reward

MoveOn Offers $250,000 Reward for Evidence Leading to Voter Fraud Conviction

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 /U.S. Newswire/ -- MoveOn.org Political Action is offering a $250,000 reward for new material evidence leading to a felony conviction for an organized effort of partisan voter suppression or electronic voting fraud.

Throughout the day accusations of election fraud and voter suppression incidents have been flooding into state and federal authorities throughout the country. In Virginia, the FBI has launched a criminal investigation into charges of voter suppression. In 20 Congressional districts, NRCC robocalls appearing to come from Democrats harassed voters with repeated calls in an apparently coordinated campaign to suppress the vote.

Complementing an earlier reward for whistleblowers, MoveOn's reward is being offered to anyone who provides this information.
